Marble is one of the most beautiful products you can add to you home, making it a very desirable option to home owners, designers and architects! It has been used for hundreds of years for sculptures, flooring, building walls, countertops and more.
Marble is a form of limestone, and like granite, forms deep below the surface due to extreme amounts of heat and pressure. Though marble makes for beautiful countertops there are some things that you should be aware of.
Marble is softer and more porous than granite, some scratching and dulling over time is to be expected.
If you spill things on your marble, it is very important to clean it immediately to help prevent the spill from soaking into the stone.
Marble will need to be re-sealed more often than granite.
Like granite, marble will often have pits and fissures. These are not defects and will not effect the durability of your counters. This is actually one of the beauties of having a natural stone product!
